Sports Car Seized and Recovered – £6,000.00 Rent Arrears

Published On: 12th March 2014

We made direct contact with the debtor (tenant) on behalf of a private landlord in relation to outstanding rent arrears. We supplied the debtor with full evidence of the claim and outlined our Clients intentions to pursue this matter further if necessary.

The debtor contacted our office and started to repay the balance in installments. The first and second payment was received however, the debtor then defaulted on the agreement and ignored all correspondence.

We were instructed to proceed with County Court Proceeding, as the debtor failed to reply to the claim form our Client was awarded a CCJ (County Court Judgment) against the debtor.

We then proceeded to instruct our expert HCEO (High Court Enforcement Officers) who attended the debtors property. Upon attendance the HCEO seized a sports car that was located on the driveway, DVLA search proved the vehicle was owned by the debtor and as no contact could be made with the debtor the vehicle was sold at auction to repay the debt.
